After completing the application

  • Once all relevant sections are completed the application system will notify the program director of the student's application.  If the student is applying for conference funding, they must email the program director to notify them of the completed application.
  • Students can check their application status. Applications will not be reviewed until all components have been completed.
  • It is the student's responsibility to follow-up on endorsements. Endorsement forms should be completed by the supervisor of the upcoming experience to confirm the dates and responsibilities of the experience.
  • The program director will inform students of the application decision. (For any travel to a travel warning country, approval is contingent upon ITART approval via risk management.)
  • Approval is at the program director's discretion.
  • Consider applying for a 'Student Contribution Waiver'. Students who participate in qualifying Experience Cornell opportunities during the summer semester may be eligible for a one-time waiver of their annual student contribution (a.k.a. summer savings/work expectation) – up to $2,400 – assigned by the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment in their financial aid package for the academic year immediately following the qualifying experience.
Learn More and Request a Waiver. To be eligible for a waiver, you must:
  1. be enrolled as a first-, second-, or third- year undergraduate in the current academic year.
  2. submit a complete waiver application no later than May 15th of the current academic year.
  3. participate in an eligible Experience Cornell opportunity in the summer semester immediately following a request for a waiver.
  4. be an institutional aid recipient with a non-zero student contribution in the upcoming academic year.
  • Once students have completed their internship or leadership experience, students must complete their post-experience application within two weeks of their end date.

Please note:

  • **An ITART petition is still required for travel to destinations considered to be elevated risk destinations. Students are responsible for understanding and following complex border restrictions and entry and re-entry requirements. Travel insurance is strongly encouraged.
