The Governance of Home Care Work in Medicaid Programs
Examining administrative law judge (ALJ) decisions and state regulations, this research project studies the everyday legal struggles and the state’s governance of care work in Medicaid-funded Consumer Directed Personal Care Service programs, an emerging delivery model for long-term in-home care. Student fellows are expected to qualitatively code ALJ dispute records over the authorization of care services and to collect and analyze federal and state regulations and other government documents.
