Overview
The ILR Undergraduate Research Fellows Program provides ILR undergraduates with the opportunity to work with a professor during academic year 2025-2026. This program was developed in response to numerous requests we have received from undergraduates for research opportunities and in the hope that it will facilitate one-on-one student/faculty interactions. Students participating in this program will receive an hourly pay of $17.00 per hour for up to 10 hours a week. Awards will be made on a one semester basis with renewal possible for the second semester. Students may not earn credit for the research project during the semester or year they are being paid as a research assistant.
Perceptions of Creativity at Work
This project explores how engaging in creative hobbies outside of work influences perceptions of worker creativity within the workplace. For example, do your colleagues perceive you as more creative when you spend your free attending dance classes versus watching television? You will join a research team that includes myself and a PhD student involved in this research. You will gain knowledge related to psychology and creativity in the workplace, first-hand experience with the research process, and work in a fast-paced team environment. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to: transcribing data, data cleaning, building/editing online surveys in Qualtrics, conducting literature reviews, and running experiments in the laboratory or at other campus locations. – with Professor Brian Lucas
