New York State Senator Zellnor Myrie 

ILR High Road New York is a statewide program that aims to teach ILR students practical methods for civic engagement and leadership through economic justice, evidence-based policy, and strategic development that creates opportunity for community members to share in prosperity.  The Summer 2024 New York City (NYC) High Road Fellowship Program will run from June 4th to July 26th. Students intern in person with various NYC partner organizations and will participate in weekly cohort workshops focused on critical reflection and peer-to-peer collaboration and networking and learning opportunities with guest speakers will be offered at ILR's NYC office on Lexington Avenue. All interns will be paid and need-based subsidized housing will be available

New York State Senator Zellnor Myrie's office is seeking interns to create a database of the landmark cases passed in the New York State legislature and play a critical role in helping to establish a presence in the community. 

Senator Zellnor Y. Myrie is a Brooklyn native and affordable housing advocate serving the 20th Senate District. Since joining the Senate in 2019, Senator Myrie has served in leadership roles and won several major legislative victories, including New York’s strongest affordable housing and tenant protection laws in generations along with sweeping reforms to New York’s criminal legal system. Senator Myrie is an alumnus of Cornell. Our District includes a range of Central Brooklyn neighborhoods: Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Prospect Lefferts Gardens and Windsor Terrace. It contains many of New York's cultural treasures including Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Children's Museum and the Weeksville Heritage Center. The senator's office has 11 employees spanning both the district and legislative offices.
