Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce

ILR High Road New York is a statewide program that aims to teach ILR students practical methods for civic engagement and leadership through economic justice, evidence-based policy, and strategic development that creates opportunity for community members to share in prosperity.  The Summer 2025 New York City (NYC) High Road Fellowship Program will run from June 2nd to August 1st, 2025. Students intern in person with various NYC partner organizations and will participate in weekly cohort workshops focused on critical reflection and peer-to-peer collaboration and networking and learning opportunities with guest speakers will be offered at ILR's NYC office on Lexington Avenue. All interns will be paid and need-based subsidized housing will be available

The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is seeking an intern that would support the Brooklyn Chamber’s workforce development portfolio. The intern will be tasked to the following: 

  • Conduct research, review economic reports, and draft content for the Brooklyn Economic Snapshot quarterly publication

  • Evaluate and propose improvements for 1) data and sections 1) design elements and presentation 3) promotion strategy based on reviewing past Brooklyn Economic Snapshot publications

  • Compare current Brooklyn Economic Snapshot with other regional economic reports

  • Create an SOP (instructional manual) on how to create the snapshot

  • Assist with creating SOPs for the Workforce Development portfolio

  • Ad hoc projects

As the voice of the Brooklyn business community, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce serves its members through promotion, support, advocacy, and its convening authority to build and maintain a healthy and robust business environment throughout the borough. The Brooklyn Alliance, its economic development arm, provides programs and business development services across Brooklyn’s diverse neighborhoods. Brooklyn Alliance Capital, a CDFI, is the Brooklyn Chamber’s lending arm, providing loans to small businesses, specifically immigrant and minority owned, to increase economic opportunity and create jobs in Brooklyn.
