ILR High Road Ithaca Fellowship
UAW Local 2300
ILR High Road New York is statewide program that aims to teach ILR students practical methods for civic & community engagement and leadership. The High Road Ithaca Program offers students paid community engaged internships with partner organizations committed to social and environmental justice, diversity and equity, access and education in Ithaca and surrounding areas during the fall or spring semesters. Students work 5-10 hours a week and participate in critical reflection activities throughout the semester.
UAW Local 2300 is an amalgamated local union with 7 contracts (Cornell University service and Maintenance workers; TCAT bus operators, mechanics, bus handlers and custodians; Bolton Point water treatment operators and administrative workers; TCPL Professional and Support Library Staff; Ithaca Housing maintenance staff; FLLS Library Staff); representing around 1500 members in the Ithaca, NY area. UAW Local 2300 is searching for an intern who work on research on grievances, bargaining demands, administrative office duties, note taking at meetings, archiving.
