Named after Korea’s ancient capital city (renamed Seoul), Hanyang University is one of South Korea’s leading private higher education institutions and boasts the largest international summer school program in the nation.
What is unique about this program?
Through its 4-week English-language program in July, Hanyang International Summer School (HISS) provides an excellent opportunity for students from all over the world to engage in credit-bearing academic courses and to learn about Korea through interactive cultural activities. Being part of the HISS program means learning from qualified professors, having new friends from all over the world, and experiencing Korea in a unique way.

Over 120 credit-bearing courses cover a wide range of subjects in 10 fields of study within the schools of Business & Economics, Communication & Media, Engineering etc. All courses are 100% taught in English by HYU professors and International faculty members from prestigious universities. Students may choose up to 3 courses and earn maximum 9 credits.

6 different fun activities are ready for students to explore all corners of the Korean culture. Students may choose up to 3 activities for free. Taking part in these activities every week is a brilliant way to give students a fun snapshot of the contemporary Korean lifestyle.
What is unique about Hanyang?
Hanyang University is considered one of the leading universities in South Korea. Traditionally known for its notable engineering colleges, Hanyang has progressed by leaps and bounds and today is recognized as a comprehensive university with 24 colleges and 32,000 students. Among its 320,000 alumni are industry leaders, prominent CEOs, artists, athletes, and entertainers. In addition to its various facilities and amenities on campus, Hanyang University’s Seoul campus is ideally located near the center of Seoul. Its proximity to the Han River, Seoul Forest, the Dongdaemun Shopping Area, the Seoul Tower on Namsan (Nam Mountain), the Gangnam District, makes getting around especially convenient, particularly as Hanyang has its own subway station (for the city’s most popular Green Line No. 2) on campus.
