Overview
The Office of Engagement Initiatives views leadership as a group process, and therefore offer a Group Certificate in Community-Engaged Leadership to registered student organizations, engineering project teams, fraternities and sororities, residential units, etc.
The program was developed by a design team of ten undergraduate students in 2018.
Groups that participate gain:
- Stronger alignment between their mission or purpose and their day-to-day activities
- Coaching and mentoring by OEI professional and graduate student staff
- Promotion on the Engaged Cornell website and social media, group funding and more.
Groups have one full year to earn certificate, with the first semester to participate in leadership education and confirm one off-campus community partner, and the second semester to take action off-campus and critically reflect.
