Overview
Host organization: Center for Khmer Studies
Location: Siem Reap, Cambodia
The Center for Khmer Studies (CKS) promotes research, teaching and public service in the social sciences, arts, and humanities in Cambodia and the Mekong region. Since its opening in 2001, CKS has specialized in the preservation of Cambodian and Southeast Asian history and culture. Their work is a response to the country's crisis in the preservation of literary heritage following decades of civil war and the targeted destruction of its educational resources.
