Cost

As a winter 2025 participant, you are billed Cornell winter tuition.

If accepted, in order to commit to the program you will be required to pay a nonrefundable deposit in the amount of $500 within seven days. This non-refundable deposit represents a set portion of the program fee. The balance of your program fee will be billed by the Office of Global Learning and due in full for winter programs by November 1. Winter tuition will be due in December ahead of your winter travels.

You will directly pay additional costs either prior to arrival or on-site. These may include visa, round-trip airfare, meals, books, and other personal expenses.

National Scholarships

This program is eligible for funding from a variety of sources. Pay close attention to eligibility criteria and deadlines as many applications are due well ahead of the experience. As well, funding decisions can take several weeks, and students should plan ahead to ensure they can still follow the payment schedule required by the program.

Cornell and Individual Program Grants

  • Program Funding – Limited funding is available to eligible COMMs students. Additional information may be requested by the program.
  • OADI Funding may offer travel funding for eligible undergraduate students.
  • Learning Strategies Center has scholarships that cover program tuition for qualified seniors and students who need a requirement to graduate on schedule. COMM 3090 fulfills several CALS requirements so some students in the past have been able to tap the LSC funding for tuition support.
  • Find Cornell funding opportunities at experience.cornell.edu. From the homepage, click Opportunities at the top and then under Categories on the left side of the screen, click Fellowships and Funding. Then hit Search.

Financial Aid

Limited financial aid for the summer and winter sessions is available to Cornell undergraduates in good academic standing who receive financial aid during the fall or spring. Contact Cornell’s Office of Financial Aid for more information.

Visiting students: Cornell University does not offer financial aid for visiting students on summer study abroad programs. We encourage you to contact your home school to discuss your options, including federal or private student loans.
