Performing and Media Arts invites you to spend an unforgettable Spring semester exploring media industries and the rich history and artistry in Los Angeles, while earning Cornell credits toward your degree. Learn about the entertainment industry's inner workings, cultivate a robust professional network, and pursue your own research interests. The semester in Los Angeles runs January 25–May 10, 2027, aligned with the academic calendar in Ithaca.
During this immersive semester, you’ll join roundtables with industry insiders, explore Hollywood museums and media archives, sit in on film and television tapings, and connect with Cornell alumni. Spend your free time discovering all L.A. has to offer. From the iconic Chinese Theatre to the star-studded Walk of Fame, from the cutting-edge studios of Burbank to the historic Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles provides endless opportunities for arts and entertainment enthusiasts.
You’ll live in centrally located housing, with accessible transportation to get to studios, screenings and networking events, and healthcare plans to support well-being throughout the semester. Professor Kristen Warner directs the program, guiding your coursework, supporting your growth, and connecting you with media professionals.
