What you should know before applying

  • This internship is open to rising juniors and seniors (current sophomores and juniors). If you are a current senior who is completing their last semester on campus in Fall 2026, you are eligible to apply.
  • Students who are studying abroad the Spring before the summer internship or the Fall after the summer internship will not be eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be within good academic standing (GPA 2.7+).
  • Select applicants will be invited to interview with a partner site. Internship placement is dependent upon an offer from the partner site.
  • Preference is given to College of Human Ecology students.

Application process:

  • Complete application through portal. You will be required to upload cover letter, resume (2 pages max), and unofficial transcript.
  • Have two recommendation surveys completed. One must be from a professor.
  • Interview with one of the internship sites.
  • Receive an acceptance from an internship site.
  • Enroll and attend 7-week internship prep course in March.
  • Note: Based on the internship site, you may have to complete an additional external application. We will be in communication about this. 

Additional requirements for selected applicants:  

  • Enrollment in HE 2400 in the Spring prior to the internship and HE 3301 in the Fall after the internship (Internship Preparation and Reflection courses, respectively; 7 weeks, 1 credit each)
