Overview
Career BRIDGE is a course to help A&S students explore the world of work. Class will cover relevant career and work topics - such as labor market data, the social psychology of networking, and AI and the future of work. Guest faculty lectures and alumni will join class to share their expertise.
For the inaugural course, we will be covering 3 broad career interest areas: finance careers, writing careers (such as publishing, journalism, marketing), and social impact and government careers (government, law, non-profits and foundations). In your application, you will be asked to indicate which track most interests you and share why.
*Please note that students must choose one career track for the course and will not be able to switch tracks if accepted.
A signature component of Career BRIDGE is a required spring break career trek to New York City.
During the trek, students will engage directly with employers, alumni, and industry professionals connected to their selected area of interest. Each career track will visit multiple organizations, where students may:
- Tour workplace environments
- Meet Cornell alumni and professionals in the field
- Learn about career pathways and industry trends
- Participate in networking opportunities
- Attend hands-on workshops or master classes focused on relevant professional skills
These immersive experiences help students connect classroom learning to real-world workplaces while gaining a clearer understanding of potential career paths.
