Please read the qualifications and instructions carefully before applying:
- Student must be a CALS undergraduate student who will be returning to Cornell Ithaca campus in the Fall 2026
- Student must have completed 2 years of undergraduate studies at the time of the internship
- Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.75
- Student may not be returning to their home country or country where they have dual citizenship to complete the internship. The purpose of a Global Fellows fellowship is to enable students to learn and grow through experiences that are NEW to them.
- No program fees may be collected by the internship organization
- Student must have secured an international internship that lasts a minimum of 7 weeks and a minimum of 30 hours per week during the summer months.
- The internship must be completed prior to the start of the Fall semester
- The internship host must be a legal organization that can and be willing to enter into a formal legal contract with Cornell University
- The Internship Organization must meet Cornell’s health and safety requirements. Travel Policy
- The Internship Organization must be located in a Level 1 or 2 on the travel advisory scale as per the US Department of State. Travel Advisories | Travel.State.gov
- Student must participate in the 7-week pre and post internship course ALS 2300 & ALS 3105 as well as the CALS Engaged Learning Symposium
- Internship Organization must be willing to provide an immediate supervisor to the student and meaningful work for the student during their internship
- Although financial compensation to the student is not required, the Internship Organization must be willing to contribute to the student’s overall expenses, either through a stipend, housing or other.
Applicants must meet the following eligibility:
- Minimum GPA of 2.75 at time of application;
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate major in CALS;
- Returning to Cornell for the Fall semester;
- Students must be able to commit to working full-time for the duration of the internship. Interns are not permitted to hold other full-time jobs. Selected interns must participate fully in pre-departure sessions, including in-person pre-departure and post-internship sessions.
- Interns are required to complete a mid-internship survey and a concluding evaluation survey.
No additional language requirements beyond English.
