Overview
The ILR Undergraduate Research Fellows Program provides ILR undergraduates with the opportunity to work with a professor during academic year 2024-2025. This program was developed in response to numerous requests we have received from undergraduates for research opportunities and in the hope that it will facilitate one-on-one student/faculty interactions. Students participating in this program will receive an hourly pay of $17 per hour for up to 10 hours a week. Awards will be made on a one semester basis with renewal possible for the second semester. Students may not earn credit for the research project during the semester or year they are being paid as a research assistant.
Antecedents and Consequences of Organizational Diversity Programs
As organizations continue to diversity, it is incumbent upon scholars and practitioners alike to understand how to best manage diversity and the consequences of our attempts to do so. As prior research has shown, diversity efforts have the potential to improve the experiences of both marginalized and non-marginalized groups but—at times—can also backfire. This research aims to better understand how both organizational policies and interpersonal interactions affect outcomes for employees, particularly marginalized employees. The Undergraduate Research Fellow will provide research assistance with activities such as cleaning and organizing data files (archival and survey), coding qualitative participant responses, creating stimuli for studies, and/or literature review(s). The Fellows for this project will be co-sponsored by ILR WIDE. – with Professor James Carter
