Opportunity Description
The Summer Research Fellow will be asked to write an institutional history of the Building Trades Employers Association (BTEA), an organization of construction contractors and associations that was founded in 1903 to resolve disputes among building trades unions in NYC. The BTEA has an important partnership with the Building and Construction Trades Council (BCTC) of Greater New York, the coalition of unions representing over 100,000 workers in NYC. The BTEA and BCTC were core partners on the World Trade Center Emergency Project after September 11, 2001, and played key roles in the recovery and restoration at Ground Zero.
