ILR High Road New York
Horticultural Society of New York (Hort)

ILR High Road New York is a statewide program that aims to teach ILR students practical methods for civic engagement and leadership through economic justice, evidence-based policy, and strategic development that creates opportunity for community members to share in prosperity.  The Summer 2024 New York City (NYC) High Road Fellowship Program will run from June 3rd to July 26th.  Students intern in person with various NYC partner organizations and will participate in weekly cohort workshops focused on critical reflection and peer-to-peer collaboration and networking and learning opportunities with guest speakers will be offered at ILR's NYC office on Lexington Avenue. All interns will be paid and need-based subsidized housing will be available

The Horticultural Society of New York (Hort) creates greenspaces and gardens that engage people on their sidewalks, in public plazas and open streets. On the ground, plant by plant, we transform neighborhoods, homeless shelters and nursing homes, schools and even jails. We support all people in their quest to improve their lives and communities with urban horticulture.  The Hort has 125 employees with 2/3 of our staff involved in public space management and operations onsite throughout NYC.

The Horticultural Society of New York (Hort) seeks candidates for an internship with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to work on the program evaluation, the People2Plant Connection (P2PC) Assessment, which will be implemented in FY24. The intern will partner with the COO to operationalize this throughout the organization.

The Horticultural Society of New York is located at 148 W 37th St #13, New York, NY 10018.
