Opportunity Description

What is unique about this program?

  • Explore climate change theory through the lens of scientific climate history in the Arctic.
  • Join your DIS faculty on a course-integrated study tour to see first-hand what is currently being researched in the changes occurring within the glaciers of Iceland, the ice sheet of Greenland, or the tundra of Arctic Norway.
  • Use Copenhagen and the region as your classroom through core course week and field studies to local institutions and unique geological locations to discuss topics in geology, climate research, and the environment.

What is unique about Copenhagen?

  • DIS is in the heart of a Medieval city.  On your way to class you will be surrounded by walking streets, canals lined with colorful houses, public gardens with castles, and spires dotting the skyline.
  • Old meets new: Copenhagen matches 16th century architecture with modern and inventive urban spaces - well-planned bike lanes, harbor baths, skate parks, food markets, and more.
  • Watch videos on DIS's YouTube channel for a more in-depth look at the city.

How do I choose among programs?

  • See the Office of Global Learning’s “Selecting a Program” page for information on program types and considerations
  • Use the search features on the Experience Cornell  Opportunities page to filter for programs approved by your college, and by particular subject areas
  • Go to the “Get Advice” page for information on drop-in advising hours, scheduling an advising appointment, returned student contacts, and college advisors for study abroad
  • Find out about upcoming events, check out FAQs, and read stories from returned study abroad students

How do I apply?

  2. For Program Admission, complete an external application directly on the program’s webpage, using the link in the “Snapshot” section. (Note: This deadline may be in advance of the general Cornell deadline for approval. Many programs fill by rolling admission.
