Billing Overview
In order to enroll in this course, you will be required to pay a program fee at the time that you commit to your program. The program fee serves as deposit and is non-refundable. The program fee typically covers housing and program activities.
Budget Breakdown
The Office of Global Learning provides the below estimated budget so you can understand the costs of your program and how they will be paid. The estimated budget indicates which study abroad costs are billable through Cornell or out of pocket.
Charges that you will pay directly to the Office of Global Learning but will not appear on your bursar bill:
- Program Fee Deposit: Non-refundable fee that goes towards housing and program activities.

Estimated additional costs paid directly by the student, such as:
- Estimated additional costs will be outline once program fee is confirmed. Students should expect to pay for round trip airfare to and from Quito Ecuador.

National Scholarships
This program is eligible for funding from a variety of sources. Pay close attention to eligibility criteria and deadlines as many applications are due well ahead of the experience. As well, funding decisions can take several weeks, and students should plan ahead to ensure they can still follow the payment schedule required by the program.
- Fund for Education Abroad – Funds available to U.S. Citizens or permanent residents. (Estimated Deadlines: Every August and January)
- Gilman Scholarship - Funds available to U.S. Citizens who are PELL grant recipients. Other eligibility and COVID travel restrictions may apply. Please visit Gilman site for complete information. (Estimated Deadlines: Every October and March)

Cornell and Individual Program Grants
- Program Funding – Funding is available though Latin American and Caribbean Studies Program, students should contact Bill Phelan for more information. Some eligibility requirements may be included. Additional information may be requested by the program.
- Einhorn Service Travel Grant - Provides up to $1,000 for students participating in community-engaged learning over academic breaks.

Financial Aid
Limited financial aid for the summer and winter sessions is available to Cornell undergraduates in good academic standing who receive financial aid during the fall or spring. Contact Cornell’s Office of Financial Aid for more information.
