Cost

If accepted, in order to commit to the program you will be required to pay a nonrefundable deposit in the amount of $500 within seven days. This non-refundable deposit represents a set portion of the program fee. The balance of your program fee will be billed by the Office of Global Learning and due in full for spring break programs by February 1.

You will directly pay additional costs either prior to arrival or on-site. These may include visa, meals, books, and other personal expenses.

Budget Breakdown

The Office of Global Learning provides the below estimated budget so you can understand the costs of your program and how they will be paid. The estimated budget indicates which study abroad costs are billable through Cornell or out of pocket.

Charges that you will pay directly to the Office of Global Learning but will not appear on your bursar bill:

  • Program Fee Deposit: Non-refundable fee that goes towards housing, airfare, and other program logistics, including excursions and activities.
  • Remaining Program Fee: These will be due for spring break programs by February 1 and cover remaining fees related to housing, airfare, and other program logistics, including excursions and activities.

National Scholarships

This program is eligible for funding from a variety of sources. Pay close attention to eligibility criteria and deadlines as many applications are due well ahead of the experience. As well, funding decisions can take several weeks, and students should plan ahead to ensure they can still follow the payment schedule required by the program.

Cornell and Individual Program Grants

  • Community-Engaged Student Grant - Provides up to $1,000 for students participating in community-engaged learning over winter and spring breaks.
  • OADI Funding may offer travel funding for eligible undergraduate students.
  • Find Cornell funding opportunities at experience.cornell.edu. From the homepage, click Opportunities at the top and then under Categories on the left side of the screen, click Fellowships and Funding. Then hit Search.
