Overview
The Engineering International Experience Grant offers summer support for Cornell Engineering undergraduates who have secured an international research experience that complements their academic experience and/or enhances their career goals.
Registered undergraduate students in the College of Engineering with demonstrated financial need are eligible to apply. The maximum award is $5,000.
Priority is given to students pursuing a research opportunity with a Cornell Global Hub or Cornell Engineering Exchange partner. Students may only be awarded the grant once during their Cornell career. This grant may be used in conjunction with the Engineering Student Travel Fund.
*Any project that proposes student travel to an international destination deemed to be an elevated risk destination by the International Travel Advisory & Response Team (ITART), must obtain ITART pre-travel approval per Policy 8.5. If applicable, we encourage you to contact intlsafety@cornell.edu for a consultation early on in your planning to increase the likelihood of ITART approval.*
Budget Section Resources
Provide a budget for your research experience. For each expense, include total anticipated dollar amount for each “unit cost” over the duration of your experience (for example, if you are asking for rent for two (2) months, you will multiply the monthly cost by two (2) in order to show the total cost of that expense). At the end of your budget, include additional funding that you are applying for and/or have already received. Please view this example budget.
Eligible Expenses May Include:
Rent/housing for the place you are living during your experience.
