Program-specific Requirements
Applicants must have completed one semester of Real Analysis (a first course in the Theory of Analysis) or Abstract Algebra by the start of the program.

Language Requirements
Students must satisfy both their study abroad program’s and their college’s requirements for language and/or area studies when studying abroad for a semester or a year. Colleges define what types of courses fulfill this requirement. Learn about your college's policies.
College-specific Requirements
Colleges may also have specific requirements for study abroad (GPA, prior study at Cornell, ability to study abroad in your final semester, etc.).
For example, your college may have a higher GPA requirement for approval than what is required by the program itself. Most notably, students in Arts & Sciences must fulfill language requirements prior to studying abroad for a semester.
General Requirements
- be in good academic standing
- complete any conduct-related sanctions related prior to study abroad (see policy for details related to future hearings, probation, and suspension)
- be able to study abroad and graduate on time
- meet the requirements of the program for admission
- meet college requirements for approval
- must not have their primary residence in the study abroad country - citizens may apply if they do not live in the country. Ask your college or the Office of Global Learning if you have questions about this eligibility requirement
