What is unique about this program?

UCC has over 3,300 international students studying at the University during a typical academic year. Students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures and do much to enhance and enrich life at the University.   Visiting students travel a great distance to study at UCC, and they do their best to ensure that your time in Cork will be academically rewarding and socially enjoyable.

Visiting students at UCC will study alongside undergraduate degree students for a semester or academic year, and can choose from a diverse selection of subject areas.  On campus accommodation is available, and visiting students are encouraged to immerse themselves within the campus community as much as possible.

What is unique about Cork?

Cork is Ireland’s second largest city and is located near the south coast of Ireland. It offers students all the advantages of a bustling, vibrant and cosmopolitan city. Further to this, UCC has over 100 societies and sports clubs to choose from students at UCC never get bored. Students can try something new or revive a previous interest.

Cork is permeated with parks, galleries, shops, restaurants, theaters and historical buildings so students are never short of recreational options. Simultaneously it possesses a small-town familiarity and students can navigate the city on foot with ease. Cork is widely known as The Food Capital of Ireland. The city and university work well together in providing students with a rich academic and extra-curricular experience.  Cork City provides endless entertainment in the form of plays, concerts, exhibitions, shopping and festivals.

How do I apply?

Applying to study abroad is a two-step process. You may complete both steps simultaneously, but the Cornell approval process must be complete before your program advisor in the Office of Global Learning can submit any approval or nomination to the program.

  1. For Cornell Approval, click on the "Apply" button on this webpage. Applications are approved by the Office of Global Learning on a rolling basis until the application deadline listed on this page.
  2. For Program Admission, complete an external application directly on the program’s webpage, using the link in the “Snapshot” section. (Note: This deadline may be in advance of the general Cornell deadline for approval. Many programs fill by rolling admission.
