Overview

Opportunity Description

The Institute for Compensation Studies is an interdisciplinary center that researches, teaches and communicates about monetary and non-monetary rewards from work. We are a joint unit of the ILR School and the SC Johnson College of Business.  There are seven staff members connected to ICS in a full- or part-time capacity, a network of external affiliates, and an associated student club.

The Institute for Compensation Studies is partnering with the CAROW Policy Lab and the Buffalo Co-Lab to do a pilot study of total rewards in the last-mile delivery industry, which includes operators such as UPS, FedEx, Amazon, and the U.S. Postal Service. We are studying how different employers organize the work and compensate workers.  We will be gathering interview and survey data in the spring semester and hope to hire a summer research assistant who will help with quantitative and qualitative data analysis, report writing, and publicity.
