Overview
The Institute for Compensation Studies is an interdisciplinary center that researches, teaches and communicates about monetary and non-monetary rewards from work. We are a joint unit of the ILR School and the SC Johnson College of Business. There are seven staff members connected to ICS in a full- or part-time capacity, a network of external affiliates, and an associated student club.
The Institute for Compensation Studies is developing research briefs about wages and working conditions for different occupations and industries. The work will involve gathering and analyzing data, reading and summarizing industry reports, interviewing key informants and people working in the industry/occupation, preparing graphs and charts, and writing reports.
This work will require experience working with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), coding qualitative data, and manipulating quantitative data. Knowledge of the social science research methods and ethics is important. Library research skills are essential. As this is team-based work, strong collaboration and communication skills are essential.
