The ILR Summer Fellow for Outreach will work across the centers, institutes, and programs of the ILR School operating in New York City to support their activities through mission-oriented communications. Working with the Associate Dean for Outreach and Sponsored Research, the Fellow will have exposure to a broad set of communications and activities.
The Fellow will be primarily responsible for drafting original stories for ILR websites, content marketing, email lists, and social media. In drafting this content, the Fellow will have the opportunity to work with extension faculty and staff across ILR Outreach units and learn of the impact that their projects have on the world of work. The Fellow will participate in cross-team communications and marketing meetings and also work directly with the ILR Communication and Marketing team and program directors.
Topic areas covered will include collective bargaining, labor relations, employment law, inequality, diversity and inclusion, precarious and low-wage work, gender equity, labor organizing and leadership, and engaged student learning.
This is a great opportunity for a student with interest in journalism, communications, public relations, or marketing at a mission-driven organization.
About ILR Outreach
ILR Outreach builds bridges between academic knowledge and challenges large and small, in workplaces and communities, from our own backyard to around the globe. Outreach requires an open and constant exchange of ideas and information. Through our Centers, Institutes and Programs, ILR Outreach is a catalyst for positive change in the world of work and within ourselves.
