Qualifications

ILR undergraduates (freshmen, sophomores and juniors)  a passion to give back within a global community, while learning about and experiencing Indian culture are encouraged to apply.  Students must be independent, confident, and mature with demonstrated professional experience in an internship, summer job, campus job, or leadership in a club. 

Applicants must be in good standing in the ILR School and the University (no pending Judicial Administrative violations, investigations, or code violations), and they must be a registered full-time student at Cornell in the fall following the summer experience. The minimum GPA is a 3.0.

Previous international experience is not required.  

Prior to their summer field experience in India, students must be on-campus during the spring semester to take the mandatory pre-departure course, ILRIC 4260 (enrollment in the course is mandatory).

Where would I be living? 

India Fellows will live in SVYM's hostel in the KIADB Industrial Housing Area in Hebbal, Mysore. Accommodations are comfortable, with each student having their own room or sharing with another Cornell student. Each room has it's own bathroom with shower, western toilet and sink. All meals will be provided in the canteen located on the ground floor of the hostel.  The main campus, where most students will work, is 5 minute walk from the hostel.
