Opportunity Description

The Harrop and Ruth Freeman Prize in Peace Studies is offered through the Judith Reppy Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS), part of the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies.

If you are a Cornell freshman, sophomore, or junior interested in a summer internship related to peace studies and conflict resolution, please apply for the Freeman Fellowship to support work at a not-for-profit organization.

The Judith Reppy Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies will award one or more Freeman Fellowships to encourage Cornell undergraduates to pursue summer work related to peace studies and conflict resolution in an otherwise unpaid position with a not-for-profit organization.


A stipend of $1,200 per month for up to two months.

How to Apply

  • Identify and secure a summer 2021 internship.
  • Apply online.
  • Submit a brief statement (200-500 words) about yourself and your summer opportunity, and describe how the internship would benefit you in reaching your long-term goals.
  • Ask an advisor or faculty member to supply a letter of recommendation. They will be prompted to upload their recommendation in the online application.
