Dyson Grand Challenges Impact Internship:
The Dyson Grand Challenges Program team will serve as a liaison between the intern and the internship host. The intern, a student employee of Cornell University, will focus on the outlined duties working with a mentor from OKB Hope. This opportunity is exclusively available to Dyson undergraduates.
Term:
The internship will take place during Cornell University's summer break, lasting approximately 12 weeks. The exact start and end dates are flexible. On average, the intern should expect to work approximately 20 hours per week, totaling around 250 hours for the summer.

Marketing and Outreach Strategy Internship: OKB Hope
Internship Purpose:
This internship offers the opportunity to help revolutionize mental healthcare access in Ghana through HeyAkua, an AI-powered mental health assistant. The intern will contribute to marketing and outreach strategies, user engagement, financial sustainability, and product development, aiming to increase adoption and secure long-term growth for the platform.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy to increase awareness and adoption of HeyAkua.
- Create engaging content for social media, blogs, and digital campaigns targeting students, employers, and professionals.
- Identify and establish partnerships with universities, organizations, and businesses to promote HeyAkua.
- Assist in organizing workshops, webinars, and community engagement events to educate and onboard users.
- Design user-friendly guides and FAQs to help individuals navigate HeyAkua’s platform.
- Develop interactive mental health resources tailored to the Ghanaian audience.
- Conduct surveys and user feedback sessions to gather insights for platform improvement.
- Research and propose a sustainable financial model for HeyAkua’s long-term growth.
- Identify potential funding sources, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and revenue-generating opportunities.
- Assist in developing a business plan to support scaling efforts.
- Work with the team to improve HeyAkua’s AI capabilities based on user feedback.
- Research and suggest new features or enhancements to improve the user experience.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure a seamless and intuitive interface.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate the success of marketing and user engagement efforts.
- Assist in building relationships with key stakeholders and organizations to expand HeyAkua’s reach.
- Support the team in brainstorming and implementing new initiatives to enhance platform visibility and impact.
Qualifications:
- Marketing & Communications: Strong digital marketing skills, content creation, and social media strategy. Experience with graphic design, video editing, or copywriting is a plus.
- Community Engagement & Outreach: Excellent relationship-building skills to establish partnerships. Passion for mental health advocacy and stigma reduction.
- User Research & Product Development: Ability to conduct surveys and analyze user feedback to improve the platform. Interest in AI-driven technology and mental health.
- Financial & Business Strategy: Basic understanding of financial modeling, fundraising, and sustainable business practices. Ability to research grants and sponsorships.
- Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment. Experience in data analytics and user engagement metrics is a plus.
