Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a Cornell Global Hubs partner and leading international research university dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge in science, engineering, business, humanities, and social science.
Successful applicants will be placed in research internships under the supervision of faculty in the following departments:
- Biology and Life Sciences
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Chemical and Biological Engineering
- Electronic and Computer Engineering

Already studying abroad for a semester in Hong Kong? You can extend your study abroad experience to complete an internship. Students will work with HKUST staff to identify organizations of interest, which may include investment firms, start-ups, and other corporate entities in Hong Kong.
Funding
You will receive an award totaling at least $3,000 for airfare, transportation, and living expenses. A portion of this award may be paid directly to the in-country host to support housing, food, and local transportation.
