Overview
Host organization: Ghost Island Media
Location: Taipei, Taiwan
Ghost Island Media is a multilingual podcast network sharing perspectives from Taiwan. Its current affairs speak to a global audience in Mandarin, English, and French. Topics have ranged from climate to cannabis, gender, culture, diplomacy, China, documentaries, Taiwan, and politics. They also run an emerging creators program for students and interns.
As an intern, you will assist with research on topics or persons assigned by producers, be present at recording sessions, generate transcripts, assist with editing, draft social media packages, research outreach opportunities, attend industry events, and shadow producers at external workshops. You will also create your own podcast episode with the support of producers who will help you refine your pitches, draft outlines, record interviews or voiceovers, edit, design sound, and publish.
Funding
All Global Interns receive an award totaling at least $3,000 for airfare, transportation, and living expenses. A portion of the stipend may be paid directly to the in-country host to support housing, food, and local transportation.
