Overview

Opportunity Description

Host organization: Lead for Ghana
Location: Accra, Ghana

Lead For Ghana is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of ethical and effective leaders who can drive meaningful social change in Ghana. The organization addresses educational inequity and leadership gaps within the country by identifying, training, and placing talented recent university graduates and young professionals in underserved schools nationwide.

As an intern, you will work closely with Lead for Ghana staff on their Leadership Development Fellowship, a comprehensive program designed to select and train exceptional individuals from diverse academic backgrounds. Through this fellowship, Lead for Ghana equips fellows with the necessary skills, knowledge, and mindset to become transformative leaders within the education sector.

Your work may include the following:

  • Collaborating with partners and donor organizations

  • Working with colleagues in Lead for Ghana to keep the organization up-to-date in the area of growth and development

  • Supporting fundraising efforts through maintaining donor relationships, managing databases, visiting partner schools and assessing the impact of projects, supporting leadership modules for high school students, linking with stakeholders to ensure deliverables, and assisting in bringing AI software project implementation into classrooms

Lead for Ghana is looking for interns who are passionate about education and committed to improving educational opportunities in Ghana. If you have knowledge of Africa, previous experience in nonprofits or NGOs, familiarity with databases, and/or strong computer literacy, you will be a strong applicant for this position.

Funding

All Global Interns receive an award totaling at least $3,000 for airfare, transportation, and living expenses. A portion of the stipend may be paid directly to the in-country host to support housing, food, and local transportation.
