Minimum GPA: 3.00


To apply, you must be:

  • A rising sophomore, junior, or senior at Cornell.
  • In good standing academically with a cumulative 3.0 GPA minimum and have no unresolved disciplinary charges or sanctions.
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at the time of the internship.


You'll need to be comfortable working with dead invertebrates and have fine motor skills to work with small invertebrates. 

Spanish is not required for this internship; however, some level of Spanish is recommended for related to fellow Latin American interns at USFQ and for life outside of the internship. 

Students must be able to commit to working full time for the duration of the internship. Interns are not permitted to hold other full-time jobs. Selected interns must participate fully in pre-departure and post-internship sessions.

Interns are required to complete a mid-internship survey and a concluding reflection and evaluation survey. Final commitments from students offered internships are required by March 31, 2024. On April 13, you will receive an orientation and training for the internship.
