Overview

Opportunity Description

Host organization: Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE)
Location: Godollo, Hungary

MATE is one of the largest agriculture-focused, multi-disciplinary, higher education institutions in Europe.

As an intern, you'll contribute to current studies on human activity and its impacts on structural and functional changes in soil fauna under the supervision of a faculty mentor. Some ongoing projects are assessing soil biological impacts of regenerative grazing, soil zoological studies on the effects of certain xenobiotics, and surveys of plant-feeding nematodes. Duties will include assistance in fieldwork (sampling, recording), laboratory work sample processing, and development of methodology.

Funding

All Global Interns receive an award totaling at least $3,000 for airfare, transportation, and living expenses. A portion of the stipend may be paid directly to the in-country host to support housing, food, and local transportation.
