Dyson Grand Challenges Impact Internship:
The Dyson Grand Challenges Program team will serve as a liaison between the intern and the internship host. The intern, a student employee of Cornell University, will focus on the outlined duties working with a mentor from the Coalition for Healthy School Foods. This opportunity is exclusively available to Dyson undergraduates.
Term:
The internship will take place during Cornell University's summer break, lasting approximately 12 weeks. The exact start and end dates are flexible. On average, the intern should expect to work approximately 15-25 hours per week.

Fundraising and Sponsorship Internship: Coalition for Healthy School Food
Internship Purpose:
The purpose of this internship is to identify and secure sponsorships from vegan or vegan-friendly companies by creating systems that leverage both technological tools and persuasive communication. The intern will gather contact information using web tools, research potential sponsors, and initiate outreach through emails and phone calls, building connections that will help establish lasting corporate partnerships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build upon a previous Grand Challenges project by developing a list of vegan companies for potential sponsorship.
- Filter out non-relevant companies, particularly those with the word “vegan” on their site but not primarily focused on vegan products.
- Compile a valid list of vegan or vegan-friendly companies, including contact information for outreach via email or phone.
- Make initial outreach to companies to introduce the organization, with the goal of securing sponsorships.
- Support follow-up with prospective sponsors, allowing the Executive Director to take over after initial contact.
- Develop similar tools to identify grant opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency with web research tools to gather company data.
- Strong writing skills for creating email and phone templates.
- Comfortable with outreach and confident communication with potential sponsors.
- Self-motivated and able to seek support when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in veganism or a closely related lifestyle.
