SUMMER 2024 PROGRAM LOCATIONS IN THE UK, BELGIUM, AND ITALY!

Opportunity Description

ILR students have the unique opportunity to apply to take one to two (depending on availability) summer courses through the Warwick International Intensive Study Programme (WIISP) at no extra tuition charge as part of ILR's exchange partnership with the Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick.  This is a short-term intensive study abroad opportunity only open to ILR students at Cornell.

About the University of Warwick

What is unique about this program?

  • Study at one of three locations for Summer 2024: the UK, Brussels, or Italy.
  • Pay no extra tuition charge and earn 3.75 credits per course (students may be able to take up to two courses); some courses are approved for ILR elective credit (out of college); courses not approved for ILR elective credit would count as general elective credit.
  • Learn through an interdisciplinary and international lens.
  • Study alongside students from Warwick and other select international partners.
  • Gain global exposure, experience, and new employability skills relevant to today’s globalized world.
  • Learn collaboratively and connect with others to experience innovative, active learning and apply theory to real-world issues working in teams and individually.
  • Access specialized intercultural training.

Review the "Academics" tab for more details, including important course enrollment and academic policies.

Program Dates

Courses are taught in May/June/July and are generally 2-3 weeks in length.  View the timetable to see when a particular course is offered.  These are designed to be short-term, intensive courses, and dates vary by course.  Note that the final assessment for some courses may not be due until October, which means students will not receive a grade for the course until November/December.

Students should not book and pay for a plane ticket or accommodation until they have received an official offer from Warwick.

How do I apply?*+

*Applications reviewed on a rolling basis

+Do not apply to WIISP on Warwick's website.  Because you are applying as an exchange student, there is a different application process.  You must complete the ILR application first, and if accepted, you will be given further instructions.

1. Meet with the program advisor in ILR (Tamara Ingram, tsi4@cornell.edu) to discuss your plans and eligibility. You can submit the application prior to your meeting with the program advisor.

2. Complete the ILR online application by clicking on the "Apply" button on this web page.

3. If accepted and nominated to the Warwick summer exchange, complete Warwick's application.  Instructions will be sent to ILR students who have been nominated for exchange study with Warwick.

To preview the application, please click on "Application Preview."  Clicking on "Apply" will create an application, so only click on "Apply" if you intend to apply to this program.
