In Summer 2022, Cornell students will collaborate with students from VinUniversity in Hanoi, Vietnam on a community-engaged learning internship with a world-renowned NGO, SCDI. In the new opportunity, students from both institutions will partner with SCDI, a non-governmental organization with the mission of enhancing the quality of life and the ability of vulnerable and disadvantaged populations to integrate into society through researching, designing, experimenting, implementing, and promoting community development models. Students will work as part of a multi-cultural and multidisciplinary team on projects focused on creating interventions, under the supervision of SCDI staff.
Students will gain skills and experience in:
- Inter-cultural communication/cultural humility
- Innovation and problem solving
- Working on a cross-cultural/international team
- community engagement
All undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply.
Students will receive funds for travel to and from Vietnam to work with SCDI and VinU students for 8 weeks between June 20th and August 5th. * Housing will be provided.
