Job Title: Atkinson Intern, Carbon Pricing
Program/Department: Carbon Pricing

Job Description: EDF internships provide high-quality experiences (including relevant projects and opportunities for networking) which create a foundation for anyone who is serious about pursuing an environmental career.

Program/Department Overview: EDF's Carbon Pricing initiative executes EDF's work on carbon pricing. The Carbon Pricing team coordinates and aligns EDF's approach for engagement and advocacy in global carbon markets. Team members undertake original research and publish in peer-reviewed journals; participate in and regularly give presentations to international negotiators, represent EDF and broader NGO coalitions; and develop and present materials in a wide range of settings, including multilateral meetings with governments and civil society organizations, corporations, and other stakeholders around the world.

Overall Function: The intern will support EDF’s work on carbon pricing and carbon markets by providing analytical and operational support to ongoing projects. This includes contributing to the implementation of EDF’s strategic goals and participating in external initiatives related to carbon pricing. The intern will also engage with work across compliance and voluntary carbon markets, gaining exposure to EDF’s role in advancing policy, market transparency, and implementation efforts. Exact project deliverables will be based on the intern’s interests and skillsets, as well as with current program priorities. Projects can include: working on the Carbon Credit Quality Initiative (CCQI) Project, drafting the design of EU International Credits Purchase Papers; assisting with the India Compliance Market & Related Work; and supporting emerging work in other regions such as Southeast Asia and South America. The intern will report to the Project Manager for the Carbon Pricing team.
