EDF offers internships and fellowships for students and recent graduates in a variety of programs and departments throughout the organization. Job Title: Atkinson Intern, Harnessing Insurance for Sustainability
Program/Department: Economics Team

Program/Department Overview
The Economics team is the nexus of economics at EDF, ensuring that the economic thinking that is the backbone for all EDF policy positions is based on the best available knowledge. To be most effective in this role, the Economics team provides support for other programs throughout EDF and fosters relationships with economists outside the organization.

Overall Function
This intern will assist with several interrelated projects on improving household and community resilience to increasing climate extreme events. A key focus of this internship will be public and private sector disaster insurance programs. This will involve spatial analysis and mapping, data analysis, and background research on programs and public policies. It may also involve assisting in the drafting of issue briefs and other written outputs. The intern will also help in documenting insurer commitments to incorporating climate and sustainability goals into underwriting.
