Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree and graduate coursework in a related discipline, such as environmental policy, economics, business/management, engineering, or physical or social sciences. Interested candidates from a variety of academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Chinese.
  • A high degree of comfort with absorbing and synthesizing extensive research across a wide variety of disciplines (from engineering to social sciences to public health).
  • Solid analytical skills and the ability to analyze datasets and produce data-driven insights, using Excel or other languages or applications (e.g., R, Python, SAS).
  • Basic proficiency in producing graphs, charts, maps, and other visuals to communicate research findings using data-visualization tools and applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in both a highly collaborative team setting and independently to complete projects.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • A passion for solving environmental problems and accelerating the transition to a just, sustainable economy.

Location: San Francisco, CA or Remote. There may also be opportunities to travel to or work from other EDF US offices.

Term: 10 weeks

Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week)

Compensation: This internship will be fully funded through Cornell Atkinson; a
$5,250 stipend is provided.
