Opportunity Description

This is our 6th year hosting the annual Animal Health Hackathon

This hackathon is truly open to ANY student, in ANY major, at ANY college that is interested in applying minimal resources and maximum brain power to rapidly prototype a solution to one of our hackathon challenges. Last year we had an amazing mix of students from across Cornell. Applications are now being accepted. Participation is capped at 175 students. You don’t need a team to sign up. Three Team formation sessions are being held the week leading up to the event.

A hackathon celebrates the use of minimal resources and maximum brain power to create outside-the-box solutions ("hacks") in a constrained time frame. HACK + MARATHON = HACKATHON

On Friday evening, teams comprised of veterinary, business, engineering, and design students, form and begin to create solutions to needs in veterinary health care. On Saturday, mentors provide feedback and guidance to teams. On Sunday, the hackathon culminates in a project showcase to an audience of peers, mentors and representatives.

A panel of judges select winners and award $8,000 to winning teams. Food, swag, networking, and workshops are all part of the amazing event.

Students should sign up ASAP, since it’s first come first serve, once we hit capacity the waitlist starts. Our hackathons always have waitlists.
