Opportunity Description

Cornell in Washington is partnering with the 11th Street Bridge Park in Washington, DC to create an exceptional community-engagement/development opportunity for students.

The 11th  Street Bridge Park, ( is a project of Ward 8 based nonprofit Building Bridges Across the River, will be Washington, D.C.’s first elevated public park located on the piers of the old 11th Street Bridge spanning the Anacostia River: a new venue for healthy recreation; environmental education and the arts. 

This is an opportunity for students in the CIW Program to work with the project designing, implementing, evaluating, and reflecting on a semester-long community engaged research and service-learning project. Students will receive training and grounding in community-based research theory and practice as well as reflective learning skills.
