Cost
Billing Overview:
Global Fellows are not billed Cornell tuition during their summer experiences.
Fellows will be responsible for airfare, meals, transportation within the city, and other incidental expenses, which are included in the overall program stipend.
Financial Support:
Each Global Fellow who has been accepted into this program will receive a monetary stipend of $3,600 USD to offset some of the major internship-related expenses, including flights, program fees, housing, and food.
Award amounts vary by program and are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, number of weeks of internship and location. The purpose of the stipend is to cover some of the major expenses. It is not intended as a monetary gain for Fellows. Global Fellows should budget wisely and be willing to financially contribute to their experience.
The stipend is intended to ensure that students can participate without significant financial burden and covers housing, meals, and local transportation for the two-month placement. Fellows should still budget carefully for optional personal expenses.
Accepted Fellows will receive confirmation of their stipend amount in their letter of offer and must set up direct deposit with the Bursar in order to receive funding.
Students should be prepared to pay some out-of-pocket expenses that the stipend will not cover, and/or expenses required in advance such as housing deposits. See the budget below for estimated amounts.
Note: Fellows will receive academic credit for the pre- and post-internship courses but not for the time spent in India.
Projected funds needed
Students should plan accordingly for the following expenses based on the length of the internship program. These projected costs are based on an average and reasonable estimate. A student's out-of-pocket costs may vary.

* All estimates are based on a 60-day period. Estimates are provided as a guide for anticipating costs of the student's summer experience. Actual expenses will vary. Many factors, including currency fluctuations, personal spending habits, and any self-selected additional travel or excursions, will affect total costs of the experience.
** Airfare is estimated as round-trip with a major East Coast departure (JFK) to placement city. Any deviation from this and associated costs, for example departing from student’s family home, is done at the discretion and cost of the student.
