Take hands-on courses and workshops at one of the world's finest film academies, FAMU, the Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

What is unique about this program?

Produce and direct your own stories on 16mm or 35mm film. Take hands-on courses and workshops at one of the world's finest film academies, FAMU, the Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. You'll participate in all aspects of filmmaking: directing, cinematography, screenwriting and editing. The program is open to challenge-seeking students who are excited to collaborate with peers and mentors.

Create Your Own Film. Live in Prague While You're At It.

  • Hands-on courses and workshops with faculty mentors
  • Based at FAMU, the Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague
  • Collaboration in small groups with Czech students, international students and CET peers
  • Documentary option for fall students
  • 35mm option for advanced fall students
  • Courses taught in English
  • No language prerequisite, but previous film experience, such as coursework in film production, is strongly encouraged

How do I apply?

Applying to study abroad is a two-step process. You may complete both steps simultaneously, but the Cornell approval process must be complete before your program advisor in the Office of Global Learning can submit any approval or nomination to the program.

  1. For Cornell Approval, click on the "Apply" button on this webpage. Applications are approved by the Office of Global Learning on a rolling basis until the application deadline listed on this page.
  2. For Program Admission, complete an external application directly on the program’s webpage, using the link in the “Snapshot” section. (Note: This deadline may be in advance of the general Cornell deadline for approval. Many programs fill by rolling admission.
